Ana Belen Abreu-Director

Voice, Piano, Flute.

Ana Belen is a classically trained professional flutist with a Bachelor of Music obtained under the tutelage of Suzanne Kirton (Naples Philharmonic principal flute), Lillian Santiago (Miami Symphony second flute) and Elissa Lakovsky (Florida Grand Opera second flute). Ana Belen has also had the privilege to receive master classes from Tadeo Cohelo (Professor of flute at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts) and William Bennett (Flute Soloist and recording artist, former principal flute of London Symphony). She has participated in important Music Festivals, such as Sewanee Music Festival in Tennessee under the tutelage of Patricia George and in the Caracas 1st Latin-American Festival. She was also awarded with the first price at the Young Artist Competition of the Florida Flute Association in 2002.

Besides playing in symphony orchestras and classical music ensembles, such as FIU symphony orchestra (1st flute), FIU Wind Ensamble(1st flute), Swanee Young Symphony Orchestra (1st and 2nd flute) among others, Ana has also developed a career in the modern music field.

At the age of 22, she became curious about the voice. She then begun to receive vocal training from different important pop music vocal coaches such as Luis Serrano, Jackie Arredondo, Beth Cohen and Katie Viqueira. Her talent as a singer grew and gaining vocal abilities allowed her to get hired as an instrumentalist and vocalist for a 2 year tour with renown Puerto Rican artist Chayanne. This venture then opened doors for Ana Belen to be part of the “Gigantes” Tour, which hosted three mayor artists of the music industry: Marc Anthony, Chayanne and Marco Antonio Solis.

Ana has also collaborated with Raul Di Blassio (famous piano soloist) Alberto Plaza (acclaimed Chilean songwriter), Jorge Villamizar (Colombian songwriter and artist, former lead singer of group “Bacilos”).

As an educator, Ana Belen concentrates in private voice, flute and piano instruction, working individually with the student. She has also developed group programs such as music theory group classes, choirs, vocal ensembles and chamber music as well as seminars and workshops for voice and instruments.
